It went so well last year, I decided to do another one. It is perfect for those of you who want to start Christmas shopping early. Cameron loved the books we bought him. And of course, I indulge in Scentsy stuff. So if you want to come join the party, it will be at my house this Saturday, Oct. 10th from 2-4 p.m. If you can't make it, but want to order some stuff, here are the links to my parties:

www.scentsy.com/kopenshaw

www.ubah.com/HOS155123

Hope to see you there!

Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-88399055489325879082009-10-03T18:57:00.000-07:002009-10-03T19:16:38.519-07:00Lydia's blessing
Here are some pics of Lydia's blessing. She was born on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 6:50 p.m, at Mountain View Hospital here in Payson. She weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 20 inches long. She has a head full of dark hair, which really surprised us. Cameron was pretty bald, so we thought maybe that trend would continue. What a surprise! She is doing really well. We stayed in the hospital until Tuesday, and have been at home relaxing since then. I have 12 weeks off from work, so I will really enjoy my summer.

The delivery was good. I started feeling contractions early on Sunday morning. By about 2:00 p.m. we decided to go in. I was at a 4+. I had an epidural, which slowed my contractions, but when the doctor came in and broke my water, I dilated fast. I only pushed for about 15 minutes (compared to the 1 1/2 hours with Cameron.) So, I was only in the hospital for about 5 hours before she was born. It was great.

Jason was there and was a great coach. He took care of me, made sure I was comfortable, and helped me focus when pushing, etc. He's the best. My mother-in-law was also there. She came up on Thursday night, and she and my father-in-law will be here for another week. They have been a big help around the house (they cleaned my entire house while I was in the hospital!), and have definitely helped Cameron stay entertained, and have really helped him adjust. My mom was there too. We didn't know if she would make it or not. She drove home from a fishing trip in Idaho that day, but she made it before the doc broke my water. Then my sisters were there too: Miranda was there most of the time I was laboring, helping to take care of me (she's a labor nurse at the hospital). Sami was there, and Krista barely made it from Vegas in time. The only sis that wasn't there was Hailey, because she was in Oregon visiting her in-laws. I had a really good support group. (3 labor nurses in my family: my mom, mother-in-law, and sister, so they really helped take care of me.)

Cameron has been an awesome big brother. He is very loving, and already protective. We had to take Lydia to get a bili test yesterday, and after Jason left with Lydia, Cameron started crying, saying "Bring home my Lydia." I reassured him that they would only be a few minutes, and he was ok after that.

I am posting a few pics of Lydia. There are also a couple professional ones that you can check out on the web. It's at http://www.hospitalportraits.com/. You can see her pics there. There are 2 of them. Just click on "Lydia B" (the pics are listed by birth date.)

We are doing well, and wanted to share this with all of you!

Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-25316290268266597022009-05-12T12:28:00.000-07:002009-05-12T12:53:38.535-07:00Announcing the newest Radiology Tech...Yes folks, it's official. Jason is a licensed Radiology Technician!!!! Three cheers for Jason.... He finished school at the end of April and studied hard for his board tests. He's been reviewing for the past several months. He took the test on May 2. I think I was almost as nervous as he was. I paced around the house, and even Cameron said a prayer for his dad! He received a prelimanary score right after the test, and got the official notice last Friday that he passed and is certified! We are so proud of him!!! It's been a lot of work, but it has paid off. He got his certificate in the mail yesterday, and I think we will frame it. I don't know where we will hang it, but it's definitely worth a frame! Now he is focusing on getting into the MRI program, which is also through Weber State, and will be another 3 semesters, but when he is finished, he will have a bachelor's and be certified as an MRI tech, which is what he eventually would like to specialize in.

We are so proud of Jason, and want to share this news with everyone! We love you Jason!!!!!

Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-6321669540734000142009-04-17T15:25:00.000-07:002009-04-17T15:44:39.708-07:00Pizza the BearI had to post these pictures and tell you about Pizza the Bear. Cameron's Nana (Jason's mom) came to visit in March and she brought Cameron's little cousin Marly (Jason's sister's girl.) While they were here, she took Cameron to Build a Bear Workshop in Orem. This was the first time we had been there. And it was a lot of fun! I think Jason and I had as much fun as the kids did, looking at all the stuffed animals and outfits. Anyway, Cameron got to choose his animal. He chose a black bear right away and he helped the girl put the stuffing in it. He put 2 little hearts in it, one that Nana kissed and one that he kissed. Then we looked around for the right outfit. They had so many to choose from. We finally decided on some jeans and a hoodie, because hoodies are Cameron's favorite. That's all the accessories that he wanted. So we went to the computer to name it and get a certificate. When we asked Cameron what he wanted to name it, he replied "Pizza." We laughed, and then asked again. We asked him probably 4 or 5 times, and each time he said "Pizza." So we decided that would be the name for his bear. So he officially brought home "Pizza the Bear" and they have been good friends ever since. He sleeps with Pizza every night. Below are some pictures of him and Pizza, and also some of him, Pizza, and Marly taking a nap. So, I am going to do that today. I have some new pics to post. We had a fun Easter weekend, although Cameron ended up being sick. He tried to have fun and was a real trooper, but you might notice in some of the pics that he just lacked energy.

Update on our baby...we are now in our 30th week. We are getting closer. Our baby is still acting healthy and we are going to our next dr. appt this Friday. She moves A LOT, and seems to get the hiccups at least 3 times a day. I am still expanding, but feeling pretty good. We are just finishing up our prenatal classes this week. Even though it's baby #2, I wanted to take the classes again because it helped so much when I was in labor with Cameron. I am glad we are taking them. It's been a good refresher course.

Jason is just finishing up with school. This week is his last time to go to campus and he will turn everything in. He has finished his clinical hours, so all he has to do is prepare to take his board exam.

That's just a quick update from the Barber house. I am going to post a couple pics now. Maybe I'll be more diligent in updating my blog....haha.

Here's Cameron on the day before Easter. We colored eggs at my mom's house with Cameron's cousins. We ended up with around 6 dozen colored Easter eggs.

This is Cameron on Easter morning with his Easter basket. It's been tradition since we were kids. The Easter Bunny hides all of the eggs that we colored the night before out in my parents' yard, then we get to find them. Some of the eggs are marked with money amounts (mostly $1, but there's also a $5 egg). My Aunt Willi marks those eggs before the Easter Bunny hides them, and then whoever finds the eggs gets the money from her. (limit 1 money egg per person, to make it fair). Below is a picture of Cameron getting a dollar for his money egg from Aunt Willi, and showing it off to me.

That's it for this post. Yes, we are going to be having a girl! We are very excited. We had our ultrasound on Tuesday, and everything went well. They checked her heart, spine, limbs, brain, etc., and everything looked great. That was the best news. And, of course, we wanted to know if it was a boy or girl. I can't handle the suspense. She was clearly a girl. I had given her a pep talk before we went, because I didn't want her to be shy. I told her we would stay there until we knew, so I guess she decided it was easier to go along with it than to try to hide. We had a little group of people there with us: of course Jason and Cameron, my mom, all 4 sisters, and my brother. My two nieces were there as well. We asked some people before hand what they thought it would be, and it was close. There were a few more guesses for girl than boy, but it was pretty even. Jason's family sent roses to the doctor's office for me since they couldn't be there. They are my favorite color, orange, and they are beautiful. It was such a fun surprise to have them waiting there for me. We now have to add a little pink to the nursery and start shopping for little girl stuff. We are very happy that she will be here in a few months.

I am attaching a couple pictures from the ultrasound. They are pictures of her face. The first one, she's kinda on the side, and the second one she's up and down.

And here's a picture of my flowers
Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-62107100961577388492009-01-29T09:28:00.000-08:002009-01-29T09:39:44.106-08:00Baby info websites So, I know there are a couple of you that are also expecting babies, so I thought I would list a couple of websites that I enjoy looking at. Both of these websites include helpful information along with week-by-week progress of how the baby is developing and what is happening with you. I like to check every week to see what is happening.

http://www.americanpregnancy.org/

http://www.babycenter.com/

5 days left until our ultrasound!!!!!!
Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-56828044826200344862009-01-25T17:19:00.000-08:002009-01-25T17:52:16.811-08:00It's About Time, I know.....

Yeah, so I know I'm a huge slacker. What can I say? Three months is too long to not update my blog? Well, I am sure I can come up with a good reason why. Holidays, work, a 2 year old. Take your pick. Ok, the #1 reason I am going to use is that I am pregnant. Yes, it's true, and we are so excited! I am now over 19 weeks along. Our due date is June 19th. It's gone by so fast. I am doing well. I wasn't nearly as sick as I was with Cameron. I have had some morning sickness (throwing up once a day in the morning) but it's starting to get better. We have gone to a few doctor appointments, and things seem to be going well with the baby too. We are going to have our next ultrasound on February 3rd, and yes, we are going to find out if we are having a boy or girl. No, I do not have an inkling of whether it's a girl or boy, and no, I don't have a preference. (those are 2 questions I am frequently asked.) We are just praying for a happy, healthy baby.

We are trying to get Cameron used to the idea of another baby. He will be about 2 1/2 years old when the baby is born. We have been working on potty training too. We hope to only have one baby in diapers at a time. He is getting big and independent, and I know he will be a good big brother.

I am going to attach a picture of our first ultrasound (done at about 10 weeks. You can't see much, but it's more than just a speck. More like a sour patch kid.) I will post the other pics on the 3rd.

I am also going to attach a couple pictures of Cameron with Santa, since I have slacked lately. These pics were taken at the hospital where Jason works. Cameron fell asleep after waiting for about 1/2 hour for Santa, but it's probably better that way. He likes pictures of Santa, but wasn't a big fan of seeing him up close this year. Maybe next year...

Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-26535705393970521332008-10-15T06:47:00.000-07:002008-10-15T06:56:38.892-07:00The party goods are here!

If you ordered any Scentsy candles or Usborne books at my party, your stuff has arrived. It's by Scott Westerfeld. The first book is called Uglies. It is about a futuristic place where people are raised to believe they are ugly until they turn 16, at which time they have surgery to become "pretty." The surgery is a total overhaul, making your face symmetrical, your eyes bigger, cheek and chin implants, the works. The series is about a girl named Tally that tries to escape the city to find her friend that lives in a "rebel camp" where people stay ugly. It is a really good book. I have finished it, and I am reading the second book in the series called Pretties. There are a couple more books in the series, Specials and Extras along with a reference book. I recommend them to anyone who likes reading. I read someone's review that said it's "a sci-fi book for people who don't like sci-fi." I couldn't agree more!

Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-91622119604810196002008-09-28T11:37:00.000-07:002008-09-28T11:51:42.265-07:00Thanks to everyone!! I just want to say thanks to everyone for coming to my Scentsy and Usborne Book party. It was a lot of fun to see you, and we had a great turn out. A lot of people said they came to start their Christmas shopping early (it's less than 3 months away!) If any of you weren't able to make it, but still wanted to order, you can do so online. For Scentsy, go to www.scentsy.com/kopenshaw. Then go into "place an order", and choose my event on 9/27/08. This will add the order to my party and you won't have to pay for shipping. For Usborne Books, go to www.ubah.com/HOS124666, which is also a link to my party.
I am going to close my parties on Saturday, October 4 so that we can get the orders placed and get the candles and books on their way. Let me know if you can't access these sites.
Thanks again to everyone for their support, and I will let you know when your stuff is in!!

Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-77213366216374554862008-09-21T10:38:00.000-07:002008-09-21T12:20:21.039-07:005 years!
Hey everyone! Yesterday was Jason and my 5th wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been 5 years already. We were married on Sept 20, 2003 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. It was a beautiful ceremony and we had many friends and family there with us. We then had a reception at my parent's house in Payson. It was in their backyard. Our colors were red, silver, and white. Jason helped choose those colors, as they reminded him of Hong Kong, China, where we met. We started our 2 1/2 week honeymoon in Park City at a condo that my bff Haley's dad owned. We were there for 4 or 5 days, then we drove to Arizona, where we had an open house the following Saturday. The open house was at Jason's parents house, and they had it decorated beautifully. They also played on the Chinese theme, and had lanterns and fans hung up outside, along with candles floating in their pool. It was very nice. Then we drove to California where we spent about a week. We went to Disneyland, and it was a blast. We had 5 day passes there, then we went to Knotts Berry for a day. We then drove to Las Vegas, where we finished up our honeymoon. We were there for a few days, and headed back to our first apartment, which was in Murray Utah.
We enjoyed our anniversary yesterday. A lot has happened in 5 years. We built our house in Payson. We've been lucky to have been able to travel to quite a few places together. Most importantly, we were blessed with our son almost 2 years ago. Cameron spent the day with us yesterday and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

My friend Jenn also had her 5 year anniversary this year, and she put pictures of her wedding on her blog. I thought it was a great idea, and I am following her example. Below are pictures of the big day, both at the temple and the reception afterward. We have been very blessed in our lives together, and I love Jason more and more every day.

Pictures of us at the Salt Lake LDS temple. One is going to be for the Scentsy Candles. They have some new scents and new warmers that just came out, and I thought it would be fun to have a follow up party. I had a party last year (my first party that I have ever hosted) and it went well. It was fun to have peopleover, so I thought I would do it again.

The second party that I am going to have is for Usborne books. For anyone not familiar with these books, they are designed for children from infants to older readers. They are awesome books. Bright colors, fun pictures, etc. I went to a part last year and ended up buying several books for Cameron for Christmas. He loves them. They are touchy-feely books and are really durable.

So since Christmas is sneaking up on us, I thought I would have both of these parties at the same time so people can come and do some early Christmas shopping! It will be on Sept 27th at 1:00 at my house. Feel free to come and bring a friend. He was so fascinated by the planes, and everytime he saw one, he thought he should let everyone else in the waiting area know. But, he did really well on the plane, so I can't complain about that. He stayed awake the entire flight, but was very quiet and wasn't very wiggly. Anyway, I fell off the shuttle bus on our way to our car. (caught myself with the suitcase, but rolled my ankle.) Then our card wouldn't read when we tried to pay for parking. Things after that were fine until we got home. It was about 9:30 p.m. and all I wanted to do was take a shower and go to sleep since I had to work the next morning. Jason went out to get the suitcases, and I turned on the water in the shower. No, let me rephrase, I turned on the faucet in the shower, but there was no water! I didn't know what was going on, so I checked the bathroom faucet. Still nothing. I started panicking. I checked the kitchen, nothing. So I told Jason and we went outside and looked around to see if there was a big gyser of water in our yard. Nothing. Checked the basement for a flood. Nothing. It was so weird. We checked and the water main was still turned on, so I called a neighbor and she said that they hadn't had any problems. I was racking my brain to figure out what it could be, and thought maybe our city billed didn't get paid, but I checked online, and it had been paid and cashed. So, I ended up calling an emergency after-hours phone number for Payson City, and some guy said they would be right out. And he was serious. He was there within about 10 minutes. He took a hammer down into our basement and banged around for a few minutes, then went out and checked our water meter, then banged downstairs again, and voila, we had water, and it was almost like nothing had happened. No loss of pressure, or anything. So we asked him what happened, and he said that on newer houses, there is a pressure gauge above the water shut off valve, and inside the gauge there is a spring. Sometimes the spring gets stuck due to hard water and sometimes it's lack of use. But if you bang on it, and knock it loose, then things work just fine. He said its not something that we need to worry about, but I thought I would share this with you, in case it ever happens to you. Needless to say, I was really ready for my shower by the time the water came on!!
Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-42842773750343427042008-08-06T06:36:00.000-07:002008-08-06T07:01:45.788-07:00ScattegoriesAs kids, we used to love playing the game Scattegories. My brother served a mission there, and we went to pick him up after he was finished. We were joined by my mom, dad, 2 sisters, grandma, aunt, and great-aunt. Cameron stayed with his Nana and Papa (Jason's parents) while we were gone. I have promised some people that I would post some of the Mongolia pictures we have. We were all afraid she was going to charge us, but didn't.

These are some "gers" which are the nomadic Mongolian's houses. These are ones that were replicated to look like what Chinggis Khan's craftsmen/women stayed in. They are pretty roomy inside, and have a wood burning stove in the middle, which really kept it warm

This is a picture of my dad, Jason, and brother Austin. They were dressed up in replica clothing of Chinggis' guards. Pretty intimidating, huh?

Last of the pictures (at least for now) is one of Jason and me. We are sitting on a replica of Chinggis' throne.

So, those are the pics that I am posting for now. I will probably post some more later, ones with us on camels, and some with all of us dressed up in traditional clothes. We loved our trip to Mongolia. The people were awesome. The language is cool to hear. It's more like Russian than Chinese. The food was ok too. The shopping was pretty good. We had a suit tailor-made for Jason, and it cost about $50, which included the material, the seamstress, and a tip because she made it within a week. She is the one that all the missionaries use. Not too shabby. All in all, it was a great trip, and although we missed Cameron like crazy, I am glad we went. It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip. If anyone ever wants to go on a trip to a far-off land, I recommend Mongolia!!
Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9007659575323906385.post-3862941655595789872008-05-28T18:14:00.001-07:002008-05-28T18:20:16.037-07:00Here goes nothing....Okay, I guess this is my beginning post to see how this works. After much convincing, I have decided to start a blog so I can keep in touch. I am still trying to figure this thing out. I haven't added pictures or fun things yet, but I guess that will come as I get familiar with this. If any of you have any hints on how to easily personalize this page, let me know.Cami and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17430081930013244635noreply@blogger.com1
